Privacy Statement
Wyeth Australia Pty Limited ("Wyeth")
is committed to and respects your right to the
privacy of your personal information and will only
collect and use personal information in accordance
with the National Privacy Principles contained in
the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth). Wyeth’s intention is to
use the personal information provided to us by you
to make any dealings with Wyeth better suited to
your needs.
Wyeth believes that choice is one of
the most important privacy principles. You have the
choice not to submit personal information (other
than as may be required by law) to us although this
may result in us being unable to provide products
and services (see Section C, below) to you or reduce
your ability to e.g. fully participate in all
aspects of our web sites.
B.
What Information we Collect
Generally, Wyeth may keep a record of
your name, contact details (i.e. address, telephone
number, etc), and when collecting personal
information for business purposes your professional
details (e.g. qualifications, speciality, areas of
interest), details on your practice/business (e.g.
size, use of products) and details of your dealings
with us. Other information may be collected from
other sources but those sources will provide details
of what personal information is being collected and
why.
Wyeth collects and uses personal
information for a number of purposes, some of which
are outlined below (see Section C). Wyeth may use
your personal information to contact you but will
not sell or otherwise transfer your personal
information to any third party unless otherwise
disclosed in this Policy or as disclosed to you when
you submit your information. However, Wyeth may
share your personal information with other
businesses or affiliates of the Wyeth group, agents,
contractors or business partners in order that they
may perform services for us. In such cases, these
third parties will be bound to maintain your rights
to privacy.

What we do with it
Generally, Wyeth will use or disclose
personal information only for the purpose indicated
to you when you provided it. Typical examples are:
(i)
Maintaining a record of medical
queries, complaints and adverse event or adverse
reaction reports relating to our products and
reporting these to relevant regulatory bodies, such
as the Therapeutic Goods Administration, as may be
required.
(ii)
Sending you material on our
activities and products or developments in
pharmaceutical treatments that may be of interest to
you and tailoring marketing services to suit your
needs.
(iii)
Administering conferences, symposia,
expert panels, seminars or other meetings or events
organised by us, which you agree to attend or be
involved with.
(iv)
Administering disease
awareness/management programs or other similar
programs organised by us, which you agree to
participate in or be involved with.
(v)
Notifying you of matters that we may
be required by law to notify you of (e.g.. product
recalls).
(vi)
Managing, planning and arranging
meetings between you and our sales representatives.
(vii)
Monitoring and reviewing our
compliance
with
relevant regulations and codes of conduct in our
dealings with you.
(viii)
Generating customer lists for the
purposes of market research.
As
Wyeth changes and grows Wyeth might buy or sell
companies, subsidiaries or assets and generally,
customer information is one of the transferred
business assets, particularly if Wyeth or
substantially all of its assets are acquired.
D.
Specifics
(i)
Web sites
Wyeth will only collect personal
information, such as your name, home address,
telephone number, or e-mail address, when it is
voluntarily submitted to us at a Wyeth website and
by using a Wyeth website, you consent to the
collection and use of your personal information as
set forth in this Privacy Policy. We (or our
provider of the service you request) will only use
this personal information to comply with your
request for information or as otherwise disclosed to
you at the location at which you submit your
personal information. We may also use your personal
information to provide you with additional
information about our products and services and to
send you information on other products and services
that may be of interest to you. From time to time,
we may refer to your personal information to better
understand your needs and determine how we can
improve our products and services.
Wyeth websites may also use
information in aggregate form to track the total
number of visitors to our site, the number of
visitors to each page of our site, and the domain
names of your internet service providers. No
personal information is available in this process.
For online ordering, Wyeth has
implemented SSL technology to protect your personal
information. This technology encrypts your
information prior to transmission over the Internet,
however, Wyeth cannot guarantee the privacy of such
transmissions to and from our websites.
Cookies:
Wyeth websites may use a technology called
"cookies". A cookie is a token that a server gives
to your browser when you access a website. Cookies
are capable of storing many types of data. Cookies
help provide additional functionality to the site or
to help us analyse site usage more accurately. For
instance, our server may set a cookie that keeps you
from having to enter a password more than once
during a visit to one of our sites. In all cases in
which cookies are used, the cookie will not collect
personal information except with your explicit
permission.
IP Addresses:
An IP (internet protocol) address is a number that
is automatically assigned to your computer by your
internet service provider when you log on. Your IP
address is not linked to your personal information
but we do preserve the right to use IP addresses to
identify individuals who may threaten our site,
services or customers.
Clickstream data:
A ”clickstream” or “clickstream data” reflect the
specific web pages visited by an individual user and
importantly, the manner or traffic pattern by which
a user moves from on web page to another. Wyeth
tracks this information only within its websites.
This information is tracked and used to understand
user habits and personalise the content, banner ads
and promotions that users will see on the website.
Clickstream data does not contain or reveal any
personal information about the user.
Wyeth websites may contain links to
other sites that we think may be of interest to
you. However, Wyeth is not responsible for the
privacy practices or the content of such web sites.
When linking to the other site, you should always
check that the site’s privacy policy before
providing any personal information.
(ii)
Mail and email information
If you wish to stop receiving any
e-mails or other consumer communications from Wyeth
which may be sent to you in the future based on your
request for this information, or if you have
submitted personally identifiable information
through a Wyeth web site and would like to have that
information deleted from our records, please notify
us.
Wyeth will preserve the contents of
any e-mail message that you send if we believe that
we have a legal requirement to do so. E-mails sent
to or from Wyeth are routinely monitored for quality
control, systems administration and legal compliance
purposes.
(iii)
Sales Representatives
Our sales representatives will
collect general information about you and your
practice as outlined above. This may include
information about your prescribing practices.
(iv)
Clinical trials
Generally, Wyeth will not collect
personal information about clinical trial patients
without their consent. Should such collection be
necessary, a separate consent for the collection
will be obtained from those involved.
(v)
Consumer Telephone Hotline
Wyeth collects your name and
telephone number for the purpose of being able to
contact you at a later date about your inquiry or
interest. The information may also be used for
producing an adverse reaction report if you are
calling to report an adverse reaction to one of our
products.
E.
Notice
Where Wyeth collect personal
information directly from you, we inform you about
the purpose and use of the collected information and
the choices and means, if any, we offer individuals
for limiting what we do with their personal
information.
F.
Security
All information provided to Wyeth (by
whatever means) is secure to the extent reasonably
possible using existing technology and practices.
Unauthorized third parties should not be able to
access it during transmission or when stored. We
will store the information that you share with us
securely and will take appropriate steps to protect
it from unauthorized access or disclosure. While no
security steps can offer 100 percent protection, we
utilize state-of-the-art technology and systems to
prevent unauthorized access to the information we
hold. We will limit access to this information to
those Wyeth personnel with a need to know. We
educate our staff about their duty to protect your
privacy, and provide training regarding the policy
described herein.
G.
Cross-border data Transfer
As part of a group of companies
located in many different countries, Wyeth provides
some personal information to persons in other
countries. When we do that, we make sure that we
comply with the safeguards provided under Australian
law.
H.
Access to Review, Correct and Delete
Information
Wyeth will make every effort to
maintain the accuracy and confidentiality of any
personal information you supply to us. If you wish
to review, correct or delete the information that
you have sent in, please contact our Privacy Officer
at

or the address below in writing, stating your name
and address and identifying the information you
would like to review, collect or delete.
We will respond to your requests to
correct, review or delete personal information
within a reasonable time and may charge an
appropriate cost for providing the information (for
example, photocopying or mail charges) to the
individual making the request.
If your personal information is
accurate, incomplete or out of date, we will correct
the personal information at your request. If there
is a disagreement about whether the information is
accurate, complete or up to date and you request
that we append a notation or statement to the record
to that effect, we will take reasonable steps to do
so.
There are some circumstances where we
may refuse to grant access or change information,
but in such cases, we will give you written reasons
for our refusal.

manner in which Wyeth has collected or used your

Changes to our Privacy Policy
Wyeth reserves the right to change
this Policy, as Wyeth deems appropriate. Should any
changes occur to our Privacy Policy, it will be
posted on our websites and available on request.
K.
The Privacy of Children
Wyeth’s web sites are not intended
for children under the age of thirteen. Wyeth does
not knowingly collect personal identifiable
information online from visitors in this age group.
L.
Career Opportunities
When you visit the Careers section of
the Wyeth website, you are given the opportunity to
either apply to join our Talent Bank or apply for a
specific position within Wyeth. If you wish to apply
on-line for a position or join the Talent Bank, you
will be asked to provide personal contact details
that include your first and last name, home address
and e-mail address. You will also be asked to
provide information about your education,
background, experience and related information and
to submit your resume. Wyeth will use this
information solely for the purpose of assessing your
eligibility for available positions, processing your
application and corresponding with you about
suitable opportunities as they arise. Wyeth will
keep your information on file.
If you would like to supplement,
delete or amend any information you provide for
recruitment purposes, please contact Wyeth via
e-mail. Alternatively you may update your profile on
the system at any stage using your user name and
password.
Apart from those policies required by
law, Wyeth may change human resources and hiring
policies and practices at any time without further
notice. Wyeth will not share the information you
submit with any third parties, other than
third-party processors assisting in the
administration of the website.
