Support
Having support is very important, particularly during the first month before your treatment starts to reduce your symptoms. An understanding family member or friend who is happy and able to be available for support can be wonderful.

Support groups are another way to receive help and support along your journey. These groups offer you the chance to meet and talk with other people with depression who understand what you are going through. They also provide an opportunity to share experiences and ideas on things that help and can provide the much-needed support between visits to your health care professional.

Your doctor or local council or mental health centre will be able to let you know of support groups available in your area.

www.depressioNet.com.au offers a personalised peer based service to find support groups in your area throughout Australia that you may find helpful.
