Regular visits to your doctor

It is particularly important during the first month to ensure you visit your doctor regularly. The more severe the depression, the more often you may need to visit.

The best thing to do is to discuss this with your doctor and to agree upon when you will return each time you visit. Make your appointments in advance to be sure to get a time that suits you and record them in your diary so you don’t forget. If you didn’t make a follow- up appointment at the time of your last visit, call and make one as soon as possible. This will allow your doctor to check how you are going and also give you the opportunity to ask questions and let your doctor know of any concerns you have.
