The First Month

At first there may not be much change and it may be difficult to do the things your therapist suggests. If you are put on medication, it takes about two weeks to start working and it may make you feel a bit anxious or jumpy to start with. It may even make you feel worse or have thoughts of self-harm. If this happens, you need to tell your parents and the doctor looking after you. Slowly, you will start to feel better and become more active. It is important to keep busy in therapy, doing more things to improve your mood and get back into the swing of things.
